How it fits together

One network for every camera, with the video on your phone

A recorder-based system is simple once it's drawn out. This is a typical networked camera system, including a wireless link to a building with no cable. It is general background, not a fixed design.

How a networked camera system fits together Three PoE IP cameras run on network cable to a PoE switch. The switch powers the cameras and connects them to a network video recorder that records and serves the video. One switch port connects to the internet router, so the owner can watch live and recorded video in a phone app. A point-to-point wireless bridge extends the same network to a camera on a detached building. How a camera project goes

From first call to watching on your phone

The usual steps for a camera system, from the first conversation to using it every day.

  1. Talk it through

Call (440) 210-9900 or email Tom. Say what you want to see and why: deliveries, a parking lot, a back door.

  2. Plan the views

Pick the camera type for each spot to suit your location and budget.

  3. Install & configure

Cabling, mounting and aiming, then recording schedules, motion areas and how long video is kept.

  4. Hand-over

Good things to check before you sign off: live view in the app on Wi-Fi and cellular, default passwords changed, and you know how to find a recording.

Quick answers

Questions people ask first

See all questions →

Can I watch my security cameras on my phone?

Yes. All Wireless Security says you can monitor its surveillance systems from any computer or wireless device, day or night. On a recorder-based system, the recorder is linked to a viewing app on your phone. It is worth checking live view on both Wi-Fi and cellular data before you sign off.

Does All Wireless Security install cameras for businesses as well as homes?

Yes. All Wireless Security works on both residential and commercial properties, for home and office.

What kinds of cameras can All Wireless Security set up?

The company's consultation options include wired cameras, cloud cameras and complete surveillance systems. It also offers the First Alert Pro VX1 HD video doorbell from Resideo. For a specific model or feature, ask Tom.

Can cameras cover a garage or outbuilding that has no network cable?

Often, yes. As general practice, a point-to-point wireless bridge can carry the camera network out to a separate building, such as a detached garage, barn or another building on the lot. The link needs a clear line of sight, and its signal strength should be tested when it is installed. Ask Tom whether it suits your property.
